Tonight | Reykjavik Calling @ Paradise Rock Club w/ JFDR, Sturla Atlas, & Air Traffic Controller
Hey music loving folks it’s that time of year when Boston joins forces with Reykjavik for the annual Taste of Iceland event which brings the culture, cuisine, and music of the country to our fair city every March.
Tonight, March 9th, is the fantastic Reykjavik Calling event taking place at our legendary venue Paradise Rock Club! The show is sponsored by WERS and this year’s lineup features JFDR, the solo project of Iceland musician Jófríður Ákadóttir, who has made a name for herself in many beloved bands including Samaris, Pascal Pinon, & Gangly. Her beautiful debut album, Brazil, was released March 2017. Also on the Nordic bill is Sturla Atlas, a Reykjavik hip-hop and R&B artist (and member of the 101 Boys) who is considered one of the most exciting new acts in Iceland. Sturla is making his U.S. debut tonight! The two Icelandic acts will be joined by Boston’s very own Air Traffic Controller, who were named the 2016 Independent Music Awards winners for Best Indie/Alt. Rock Album, Best Indie/Alt. Rock Song, & Best Music Producer.
With a lineup like this you really can’t go wrong my friends!
Admission for Reykjavik Calling is free and will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors are at 7pm and this is an 18+ show. RSVP on Facebook.
