Tomorrow Night | Dawes, Blitzen Trapper and The Belle Brigade at the Royale
Blitzen Trapper – American Goldwing
Simply put: tomorrow night’s Dawes, Blitzen Trapper and The Belle Brigade show at The Royale is bound to be well, pretty freaking great. Grab your tickets now, arrive early and enjoy.
Dawes, who released their sophomore album back in June, are on their first post-Middle Brother tour promoting their new material. And while audiences became fans with the epic sing-alongs of When My Time Comes, it’s about time that we get to hear some of their new stuff, how it was meant to be enjoyed, live. If you’ve caught Dawes any time in the past few years, you’ve likely heard a few of the new tracks. If I Wanted Someone and How Far We’ve Come were played back in 2010 at The Great Scott, and Million Dollar Bill also makes an appearance on the Middle Brother album. But it’ll be a nice change up to hear songs from two amazing albums from the band. And if we’re lucky, as Dawes fans usually are, perhaps we’ll hear some completely new tunes as well.
Fellow vintage folk rockers Blitzen Trapper are co-headlining the show in support of their September release American Goldwing. The Portland band’s third release is full of authentic vintage country influences and is overall a great listen. These two bands really are a perfect fit for a live show. Brother-sister duo The Belle Brigade will start off the night.
Doors are at 5:30 and none of these acts are to be missed. Tickets are $20.
