As if we weren’t lucky enough to live in a fantastic city, with one of the best burgeoning music scenes in the country, but this saturday, a completely free, totally awesome festival is going on in Jamaica Plain. What is supremely interesting about this festival is its local roots. JP boasts tons of great musicians, acts, composers, and this Saturday, they are all getting together for one hell of a local festival.
I personally have come to love JP, although I’m actually moving out to Roslindale the day after the festival (at the mercy of Matt and Charlie’s jibes) and I can understand the pride that comes with the area and I’m proud to help with the festival promotion as well as attend (time willing… tomorrow I pick up my new puppy) such a great event.
So give the mixtape above a good listen, and check out all of the great stuff we’ve got right here in our back yard.
The festival will run 1-7 PM at the Pinebank Baseball Field near Jamaica Pond. It will host on two stages and the lineup is as follows:
