The Luyas at the Paradise Tonight
Tonight at the Paradise Rock Club, we can welcome The Luyas with open arms. Their upcoming album, Too Beautiful to Work will be released on February 22 (February 21, in the UK). I’ve gotten a chance to listen to the album, its a collection of echo-drenched space-age pop songs, its futurist but retro at the same time.
The Luyas had a lot of help on the album as well. They enlisted talented friends such as Owen Pallett on violin, Colin Stetson adds saxophone and clarinet, Sarah Neufeld (who plays in a band called Arcade Fire) also plays violin.
The Luyas’ vision stretches beyond the grooves of their new LP. This band led 50 unsuspecting fans in Brooklyn to a secret location where the band performed alongside a psychedelic lightshow in a bedroom.
You can catch your first listen here and at the Paradise as The Luyas open for The Antlers tonight.
