Song of the Week | Operator Music Band - Squaresoft
This week’s WFMO X Music Savage Show “Song of the Week” spotlight is once again focused on New York and this time it shines down Brooklyn band Operator Music Band and their new single, “Squaresoft.” The quartet released a debut EP, Puzzlephonics I, in 2015 and their first full length, Puzzlephonics I & II, in 2017. Despite their short period of existence, they already have the music world taking notice.
Operator Music Band are Dara Hirsch (vocals/guitar/keys), Jared Hiller (vocals/guitar/synths), Gabe Pittleman(bass), and Alejandro Salazar (drums). Together they create uniquely energetic music that can be labeled art-rock, but if you box them in a certain category of sound it does not do this band justice. Take a listen to the new single and you’ll understand the incredible heights they take those angular hooks and dance beats.
I loved this song the moment I pressed play and I think you will as well. The bass and beat are enough to get your day going. Did you wake up and discover you were out of coffee? No worries… just give this track a spin and get your dance on!
