The latest WFMO X Music Savage Show “Song of the Week” spotlight is focused on a ridiculously catchy single titled, “Prémonition,” from Montreal musician Béatrice Martin who creates her addictive music under the stage name Cœur de pirate. This track is just one of ten amazing songs on her new album, en cas de tempête, ce jardin sera fermé, (rough translation “In Case of Storm, This Garden Will Be Closed) which was released on June 1st via Dare To Care Records.

Martin’s first release as Cœur de pirate was her self-tilted 2008 album which was nominated for Francophone Album of the Year at the 2009 Juno Awards, spent almost two years on the Canadian charts, AND went platinum. She released her sophomore album, Blonde, in 2011 (also went platinum in Canada) followed by her first bilingual album, Roses, in 2015, which brought it tons of new fans and went Gold.

The following year Coeur de pirate won the Félix award for English-Language Album of the Year for Roses. Oh, and she also somehow finds the time to compose music for popular video games and television shows, as well as performing as a judge on the French series Nouvelle Star!

Cœur de pirate is touring the world throughout 2018 and we are very fortunate that her travels will bring her here to Boston on Wednesday, November 28th @ Paradise Rock Club.
