Song of the Week | Basement Revolver - Tree Trunks
The WFMO X Music Savage Show “Song of the Week” spotlight is back with the gorgeous new single, “Tree Trunks,” from Hamilton, Ontario’s Basement Revolver. We have been following the Canadian band for just over a year now and it has been fantastic to see the talented trio find their shoegaze footing. Following the release of their June 2016 debut single, “Johnny,” they have seen their hometown fanbase grow by leaps and bounds while steadily making waves here in the states.
Basement Revolver are Chrisy Hurn (vocals/guitar), Nimal Agalawatte (bass/synth), and Brandon Munroe (drums) and their upcoming sophomore EP, Agatha, will be released July 21st on Yellow K Records in the states and fear of missing out records in the UK. The song, “Tree Trunks,” is a beautifully arraigned personal story of bravery within an emotional struggle. Hurn’s lyrics show a vulnerability that has connected with listeners while her bandmates have created a musical landscape lush enough to carry the weight of the words.
