If there’s one thing you’re guaranteed with a Rayland Baxter show it’s a damn good time. Add in a little Illiterate Light and you’ve got the makings of a what-the-f-just-happened good time.
This time round Rayland brought his crew to a sold-out gig at The Sinclair to play through crowd favorites old and new, bringing new spirit to his classics and new energy to songs off his new album Wide Awake. With all of the cool you expect from Rayland, he and his band of merry makers made trekking out on a freezing New England night 100% worth it.
But let’s not forget that a great show needs a great opener to be complete. New Music Savage favorites Illiterate Light—touring behind their debut EP Sweat Beast—brought a full arsenal of insane energy, great garage-rock tinged harmonies, and enough head-banging rock to heat up even the most frozen of our hearts. Don’t miss these guys next time through when the play Great Scott on April 17th, with Susto and Frances Cone.
