New Music | The Suzan - Moving On
[N]ew York City rock n’ rollers The Suzan released the super-catchy new single, “Moving On,” earlier this month and with its funky bass hook, chorus of “yeah, yeah, yeahs,” and sniper-guitar chords, the track is sure to get you moving around the room. It is the band’s first recording in the three years since their last full length album Golden Week for the Poco Poco Beat, which was produced by Bjorn Yttling of Peter, Bjorn and John.
Formed in 2004 in Tokyo, Japan by sisters Rie (keyboards and vocals) and Saori (guitar and vocals) they added school friends Nico (drums) and Ikue (bass) and quickly took European stages by storm with their unique style and an irresistible rocking-disco-punk-jazz-surf-pop sound. Since moving to New York in 2011 The Suzan have found American audiences to be equally enthusiastic and ready to dance. As the only Asian girl group currently active here in the US, and in Europe, The Suzan have their musical niche all to themselves.
