[T]he world didn’t need another song about California girls, not even 10 seconds of one, and then this one showed up. Shark?’s (try saying that with the right vocal inflection) “California Girls,” is quite a bit different, dispelling the notion of wonderfulness California girls usually get. The lo-fi garage(y) sound and the near intrinsic hatred for west coast culture made this one jump out at me. It’s fresh, irreverent and worth singing along. Pop this one in your car, and play it loud and proud. Go East Coast!
