New Music | Esmé Patterson - Feel Right
Denver songstress Esmé Patterson has relocated herself to the Pacific Northwest and now calls Portland, OR home. The musician has been hunkered down in the studio since the move (a year or so ago) and is now readying the release of her new album, We Were Wild, out June 10th via Grand Jury Music.
The former member, and co-founder, of the much loved indie-folk outfit Paper Bird has two critically acclaimed albums to her name, 2012’s All Princes, I and 2014’s Woman to Woman, as well as the incredibly catchy hit song, “Dearly Departed,” which she sang with Shakey Graves on his 2014 album And The War Came.
I am pleased to be able to share with you the opening track and first single, “Feel Right,” from We Were Wild and holy smokes it is a walloping, doozy of a rock n’ roll number! Kicking off with a head-smack of feedback, the guitar sounds as if it is getting ready for take off and the frantic bass line follows Patteron’s impassioned vocals as she belt’s out “No one wants to feel/Something that don’t feel right.”
It’s a bouncy, irresistibly fun song that sure feels right and I can’t wait to hear more.
Esmé is on tour now and has a stop in our fair city April 14th @ Paradise Rock Club. Info and tickets here.
