New Music | Black Joe Lewis - Skulldiggin
[R]ecently signed to Vagrant Records, Black Joe Lewis will release their brand new full-length LP, Electric Slave, on August 27 and are offering up “Skulldiggin,” the first single off the upcoming record. “Skulldiggin,” is a super super super distorted, fuzzy blues rock number with a rough edge and a little White Stripes and early Black Keys influence. This song is heavy on the guitar, and points to a slightly different direction for Black Joe Lewis. It’s rockin, pretty damn heavy, and makes me thirsty for more.
The majority of the album was produced by Stuart Sikes (White Stripes, Cat Power, Modest Mouse) and three of the new tracks (including “Skulldiggin”) were produced by John Congleton (Explosions in the Sky, St. Vincent, Okkervil River).
Check out the single, and grab the record come August, and for the cherry on top, a huge NA tour with a stop here in Boston at the Royale.
