Middle Brother releases Me Me Me
If you haven’t heard of them, Middle Brother, is made of Deer Tick’s John McCauley, Dawes frontman, Taylor Goldsmith, and Delta Spirit frontman, Matt Vasquez. Together they form a young supergroup that I couldn’t be more excited to hear them play together.
These guys are making rock music the way it should be done. They carry the torch passed on by the Springsteens and Petty’s of yesteryear. Their first appearance came about at SxSW this year, when they were just the MG&V moniker. As a member of their mailing list, they gave out a holiday gift to us excited listeners.
Check out Me Me Me, an anthemic, upbeat track, that sounds like it could have been a Petty track. I’m kind of shocked how great they sound together. One would suppose that their might be an element of let down with all this great talent. This is not the case at all. The guys harmonize really well together, almost as though they’ve been playing together for a long time now. Could this be the second coming of the Traveling Wilbury’s? I’d say its got that level of potential.
Their self-title debut will release March 1st on Partisan records. Be sure to pick this one up.
